Beso was found wondering around covered in burdocks. He has had a rough life. Beso can be a bit wary of new people. He will need a home with chow-experienced owners. Beso likes to have the top of his head scratched and behind his ears. He will role over and let you pet his belly.

Surrey is a typical young dog. She needs obedience training and room to run. Surrey calms right down after she has a chance to run and play. She likes other dogs and pays no attention to cats. Surrey will make a wonderful addition to your family.

Beefy

Beefy was brought to us when animal control picked him up. Beefy is a very affectionate, happy-go-lucky hound dog who loves people and is also good with dogs and cats. He loves to play, and then flop in your lap on his back for a belly rub!

Barron

Barron is a very strong dog that should go to a dog-experienced owner with no cats, although he is good with other dogs. He loves nothing more to lay next to your chair and relax with you, whether you are watching TV or working on the computer. Barron just loves to be with people.

Maisie

Maisie is a sweetheart that adores children. She came to in as a stray that was picked up by animal control. Maisie is good with everybody- people, dogs, and cats. She would benefit from obedience traing as she is a young puppy and has a lot to learn.

Skolly

Gender: Neutered male
Skolly was a stray that was brought in by animal control. He is a very energetic boy. Skolly knows some basic commands, (sit,speak,stay and come) so somebody took the time to teach him. He is very willing to please and would benefit from obedience classes.

Kaden is a great big teddy bear. He came to the shelter with his sister (who has since been adopted) when his owners moved. Kaden is a gentle giant; he loves to lay around and be lazy. Can he share your couch?

Tank

Breed: American Bulldog mix
Gender: Neutered male
Tank was a stray who had a severe flea allergy, which has been treated. His bald patches are growing back nicely.
Tank can be true to his name; he is a strong boy who needs some basic obedience training, but he is a love! He does know how to climb/jump fences, so supervision is neccessary. -
Chablis

Gender: Spayed female
Chablis was found running loose in the city and brought to the shelter. She is a happy, happy dog who loves to go for long walks. Chablis was recently adopted but then returned because the family said that although she is a wonderful girl, they didn’t have time for her. Like all dogs, Chablis would benefit from training and would most definitely enjoy the bonding time with her new owner. When she went home a few weeks ago, she thought she was starting a new life. Chablis loves people and just doesn’t understand why the love wasn’t returned. Now she’s ready to go home for good.

Oasis

Breed: American Staffordshire terrier
Gender: Neutered male
Despite his rough start as a stray, Oasis is a happy-go-lucky glass half full sort of guy. He absolutely LOVES to play fetch. He is a natural and brings the ball right back without any coaxing. If Oasis gets too close with that soggy tennis ball, just tell him to “back up” and he’ll scoot backward with a tilt of the head and prick of his ears as if to say, “is that good?” Although fun and games are his forte, Oasis is working hard at his basic obedience training so he can be a well-mannered member of his new home. When get gets excited, his entire body wiggles like jelly. Oasis always has a huge grin on his face and is anxiously awaiting the time when he can make someone, or an entire family, the center of his world. He has enough love to go around and is sure to bring with him a lot of laughter and smiles.

Cian

Breed: Retriever mix
Gender:Spayed female
Cian first came to the shelter in August 2011 and has been in a foster home since February 2012 where she has learned so much about being a good pet! She loves to be hugged and kissed, to play tug-of-war, retrieve a tennis ball and to romp with her foster-brother in the yard. She also loves riding in the car and going for walks, although she gets nervous when a car speeds by her while on her walk.It is easy to become enamored by her appearance- her absolutely gorgeous red, medium coat, and cute little dappled paws make her irresistible. She is housebroken and crate trained and tries very hard to please by following the rules although she is sometimes impulsive. She is a high-energy young dog who needs a person willing to commit to continuing her training.Cian has been evaluated by two trainers and both have found her to be a quick study. She is definitely high-energy, but also intelligent and eager to work once someone takes control. She is training on a head collar and accepted it very easily, and settled down nicely with the little bit of discipline. She seems to really want a family to be part of. She displayed a lot of potential when tested her on some basic agility obstacles. She would likely be very good as a performance dog or in any other situation where can channel her energy through playing with children or another dog.Cian really is a great little girl, but she needs the right person to give her a chance. She will certainly pay back ten-fold whomever is willing to put a little extra effort into her. It seems like she was totally ignored in her pre-shelter life but loves family life in her foster home!* Cian is in a foster home. Please e-mail info@mc-spca.org to make arrangements to meet her!
