Who we are:
-
We are a 501(c)3 not-for-profit
corporation that was locally established in 1904.
-
We provide a caring shelter
for unwanted, abused, neglected or abandoned animals.
-
We monitor our animals
on a regular basis to assure their good health. No animal’s health is jeopardized
due to the cost of medical care.
-
We work endlessly to find
good caring homes for our shelter animals.
-
We give all our shelter
animals every chance to get adopted. No animal is euthanized due to the
lack of space. We provide extra help for special needs cases.
-
We educate the community
the responsibility of pet ownership especially the importance of spaying
and neutering.
-
We seek programs that offer
low cost spaying and neutering.
-
We offer the community
the therapy of animals. We go out to institutions with our shelter animals
for others’ joy and comfort.
-
We maintain an inviting
shelter that welcomes the community. We embrace volunteers with appreciation
and recognition.
-
We assure our volunteers
get just as much self-satisfaction from their service as the shelter gets
from their dedicated work.
-
We work with law enforcement
entities on abuse and neglect cases.
-
We depend largely on the
generous donations of the community. We do not receive any subsidizing
from the state, county or municipalities.
